Skip Kirby believes that you can make a difference. Frustrated with the overcrowding and mediocre caliber of the recreational athletic fields on which his son and his son’s friends played, Kirby vowed to build a safer, higher quality facility for Cherokee County’s children to play baseball. He is credited as the motivating force behind the construction of six new fields at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, Georgia. In developing the Hobgood Park fields, Kirby discovered a new passion and founded Sports Turf Management in 1994.

As a hard-working entrepreneur, Kirby has built Sports Turf Management by combining outstanding personnel, state-of-the-art equipment, the latest technology, and a thirst for learning anything new in the field of Sports Turf Management. His philosophy is simple and direct. He believes in providing proactive services with results second to none. This philosophy and Kirby’s strong but jovial personality, have quickly propelled Sports Turf Management into its position as one of the Southeast’s premier Sports Turf Management companies.

Prior to founding Sports Turf Management, Kirby began his career with Xerox Corporation. He and his wife Linda are involved in supporting their son Chase in his academic and athletic activities at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia.
